Family Consumer Sciences Programs
FCS stands for Family Consumer Science Classes. FCS classed help students prepare for college and potentially their future careers. The classes helps students build relationships between their community and their families. FCS classes also teach leadership and even communication skills to each student to help them prepare for their future. Classes that Mammoth Spring High School offers for FCS include: Career Development, FCS, Life Fitness and Nutrition, Food Safety/Nutrition, and Chemistry of Foods.
FCCLA
FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. It is a dynamic and effective nation wide, student organization that helps all young men and women become better leaders and be able to address any important personal, family, work, and societal issues. FCCLA help build leadership, communication, and teamwork building skills. FCCLA as a whole has more than 160,000 members; more than 5,400 chapters in 53 states including Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Since it was founded in 1945 it has had more than 10 million members. Imagine being in a student organized club that has had that many people. Fun fact multiple celebrities' were in FCCLA. Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and Bo Jackson to name a few are FCCLA's most nationally recognized alumni.
